File manager has a 5mb memory limit which restricts the number of files that can be displayed if there is a large number of files in folder. An FTPclient such as Smart FTP or Cute FTP is required if you want to have large numbers of files in a folder.
I have uploaded files to File manager but cannot see them, they were recently visible. What has happened?
